loads of good ideas 3 Feb 2004
Format:Paperback
If you are going to buy one book about multicultural craft activities for children - this is the one to get. I run an after school club for 4 - 11 year olds and this book has some great ideas for all ages of children. So far we've enjoyed making dreamcatchers, worry dolls, finger masks, dancing dragons, foil masks, and twirling puppets. As well as easy to follow instructions there are also background notes about the activity and the country it comes from. Most of the ideas use basic resources - card, wool, paper, paints, etc. so the book doesn't assume that you have specialist equipment to hand. Excellent value for money.

I work in a private day nursery and all of the 25 staff members have said how good they thought this book is. It's very useful for planning activities for young children and gives a wide variety of various cultures around the world. Many of the activities are quite simple which is useful as the children within my area are two & a half to 3 & a half years old. I will definitely be recommending it to my other 'nursery nurse' and 'mum' friends.

Fantastic resource 18 Nov 2011
Format:Paperback
This fantastic book contains creative and craft ideas linked to many countries of the world including the Americas, Africa, Asia and the far East. I purchased this to support topic planning on festivals for my year 1 class and am delighted with the diverse range of craft and art ideas it incorporates, which could easily be adapted. This is not just a book for children though, the ideas will inspire teens and adults too.

The only gap is in the lack of resources for the European countries and for Australasia. However the quality and diversity of the ideas make this well worth the investment and I know I will be referring to this book time and again.
