Product Description

When Kevin Lewis wrote The Kid, the bestselling story of his brutal childhood, he believed he could put it all behind him. But it wasn't to be quite that straightforward...

Vivid visions of the beatings and torture he endured from Gloria, his unstable mother, and Dennis, his alcoholic father, rose up and engulfed him, and he was forced to face his demons once more.

But his own inner turmoil paled in insignificance when history started to repeat itself within the Lewes family. For in Moving On, Kevin describes his anger and disbelief at learning that five of his nieces and nephews have been taken into care. Then comes the horrifying news that Gloria has applied to have them live with her.

The manuscript of The Kid was finally ready, but I was apprehensive about giving it to Jackie to read, even though that was the main reason I had written it. Read the first page

disappointing 19 Jan 2006
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
The first book was excellent so I was very disappointed with this book. From the back cover it looked like it was going to be a page turner but thats not the case with this follow up. I am happy that he has made a good life for himself, but was expecting more on the family situation with gloria. With the first book you got engrossed with what was happening as you just cant belive people can behave in this way and then are so relieved that the victim is saved you go through a rollercoaster of emotions, but with this book it was no where near as emotional. Again I am happy that all is well, but belive that this follow up was just a money orientated purpose. They changed the title from Moving On to The Kid Moves On. Why? I expect it didn't do too well in the charts. One to miss.

Boring 15 April 2006
Format:Paperback
I very much 'enjoyed' (if that is an appropriate word to use)kevin lewis' first book. I thought I wonder what happened to him afterwards, so i bought this one. It is very disapointing to say the least. To me all the book seemed to do is repeat one sentence after another, phrasing it slightly different. I got so bored with hearing the same old phrases i didn't even finish the book.

I would not recommend this to anyone.

The Kid Moves On 14 Aug 2006
Format:Paperback
I have read both The Kid and The Kid Moves and this book did answer alot of the questions outstanding from the first book. I was appalled to read that his mother was still today abusing children today. And it was pleasing to find that he faced up to his mother about this. Good book worth reading.
