Product Description

Who are the Kennedys? Are they the brilliant, heroic, extraordinary people their admirers believe them to be? Or are they arrogant, competitive, self-absorbed children of a willful and immensely rich patriarch, as their detractors claim? In fact, they are all of these things, and more.

Years in the making, based on hundreds of interviews with family members and associates and extensive research into archives and sources unused until now, this is the nationwide best - seller whose very publication caused an uproar in the press. The first and only book to fully penetrate the Kennedy inner sanctum and reveal the true, all too human saga behind America's most famous family.

The Kennedy myth is pretty awe-inspiring, and these writers capture it confidently and succinctly.
This book is very well written with family trees in every section, which makes good sense.
Sometimes they seem a little in thrall to the family rather than just sticking to facts, but perhaps that's what you should expect from a book chronicling such a charismatic family.
They don't spend too much time on John F Kennedy, which is satisfying. A recommended read if you're a Kennedy-phile or even if you're just interested in biographies...

I loved it. It is a thorough review of the family, its origins and the many characters within the family. It is clearly well researched and contains much detail about the administration of Jack Kennedy's years in the White House. It srikes a good balance between the personal and public. Whether you are fascinated, interested or merely curious about the Kennedy clan then this is the definitive book to have.
