TEA. SYMPATHY. REVENGE. THE SISTERHOOD HAS THEIR OWN STYLE OF JUSTICE. The women of the Sisterhood know life isn't fair, but that doesn't mean they have to like it - or let it pass. Instead, these best friends share their joys, troubles, triumphs, heartaches and one collective mission: to right wrongs and bring justice where it is desperately needed. Even reeling from loss of one of their own, the Sisterhood is always prepared to rally behind a new friend. For years, Paula Woodley has suffered the broken bones and shattered self-esteem caused by an abusive marriage. But what can she do? Her high-profile, Washington powerbroker husband is not a man to be crossed. Or so he thinks. The Sisterhood may not be an organization found in any of his memos, but he's about to take a meeting with them - and they'll be setting the agenda!

Synopsis

The Sisterhood have decided that the next revenge mission will be Nikki Quinn's, Myra's adopted daughter. She is surprised by this decision because she felt that she was only an advisor to the group. It also upsets her because everyone expects her to want to seek revenge on Jack Emery - her former fiance, who has made it clear that he will do everything he can to stop the ladies from Pinewood from carrying out their missions. Nikki still loves Jack and tells Myra and her partner, Charles, that she wants to pass on her turn. They suggest she gets completely away from it all and take a break. Then Nikki's office manager, Maddie, unexpectedly arrives at Pinewood with a badly beaten woman, who turns out to be the wife of the National Security Advisor and the President's best buddy. Seeing the state of this battered wife, the sisterhood decide that her husband, NSA or not, will be their next victim. Whilst this and other revenge missions are being carried out, Nikki gets back together with Jack Emery, telling him everything and he promises not to pursue them any more because he loves her.

But unfortunately, he had already discussed everything with a reporter - Ted Robinson, who carries on investigating Myra and the girls. And Jack and Ted have their own little revenge mission against Federal Agents who it appears are protecting Charles...This is a gripping novel of romantic suspense from the bestselling author.

SUPERIOR READING OF SISTERHOOD SERIES 14 Jun 2006
By Gail Cooke - Published on Amazon.com
Format:MP3 CD
Fern Michaels knows a winner when she writes one, so she's penning stories in her Sisterhood Series at quite a pace. Latest out of the shoot is a fourth, The Jury, another saga in the pursuit of justice by a group of seven women who some time ago decided that life wasn't fair and they were going to do what they could to tip the scales in their direction.

First introduced to us in "Weekend Warriors," these are gals who will stop at nothing (well, almost) to protect or avenge one of their own. Now, they extend their caring arms to a new friend - Paula Woodley. She has been the victim of an abusive marriage with the broken bones and zero self-esteem to show for it. The perpetrator of such cruelty? A wealthy, respected Washington high roller, Karl Woodley, the national security advisor himself and a good buddy of the president.

Paula felt she didn't have a prayer is she stood up to him - she hadn't counted on the help of the Sisterhood.

Laural Merlington's reading of Weekend Warriors won me, and that appreciation grew even stronger upon hearing her narratives of Vendetta and Payback. She has a smooth, easy-to-listen-to voice that is now identified with this series. Her take on each of these intrepid women is superior.

Enjoy!

Confused by the plot 20 Mar 2007
By Teresa - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
While I have enjoyed other Fern Michaels Revenge of the Sisterhood books, this book was confusing in the beginning, perplexing in the middle and a let down in the end. First, why was there even a plot about extracting revenge for the horse farm owners, then abruptly that plot went away, conveniently resolving the issue on its own? There wasn't any good reason to even have that plot in the book. And how did the fired attorney just go away on her own? And (caution-spoiler to follow), why in the world was the daughter of the judge killed off (unless there's another story line here)? It added nothing to the book! And the ending-why oh why would the wife of the National Security Advisor come out of hiding to be with her husband after the guy was almost beaten to death in retaliation by the Sisterhood? Why would she even want to be near him? I haven't a clue.

Format:Mass Market Paperback
It was all right, but the series seems to be going down. I hope Sweet Revenge is better.
