As I have a birthday in October, and like wine I always get bought this book! The book is OK, but not very exciting and really pretty corny. If you think Matt Skinner is cool, and you buy into the 'laid-back Aussie' schtick then you might enjoy 'The Juice', however if you are a real wine lover then there are much better guides out there (Oz Clarkes for example). Matt Skinner has moved back to Australia too, so its possible that much of this book is ghost written by other people.
I would give this book only 1 out of 5.
*** after writing this review I have since read an article in the excellent Decanter magazine (13 Nov 2009) in which Skinner admits to suggesting wines he has never tasted - not great for a wine review book!!! ***

Been collecting these for years and they make a nice row on the bookcase. This year for some unknown reason they have changed the format / size of the book so that it doesn't match the previous 5 years. Why ??????
