Product Description

Treachery has a price, in the mesmerizing new Sean Dillon thriller from the Sunday Times-bestselling author.

Helmand Province, Afghanistan: a lone convoy edges its way towards a deserted mountain village, led by US Army Rangers in Mastiff APVs. Stopping to search the area, the Rangers are hit by a massive roadside bomb, and as half the patrol lie dead or injured, the rest are ambushed with military precision. A nearby British medical team responds to the call for back-up, but all are slaughtered when their Chinook helicopter is blown up.

The ambush is bad, but what's worse is that, amidst the battlefield chatter picked up by Major Giles Roper, not all the Taliban voices are Afghan – some are English, and the commander bears an Irish accent; he even names himself 'Shamrock'. Why would he commit such an atrocity, but more importantly can he be found before he masterminds another?

Sean Dillon is put in charge of hunting the traitor down, with all the resources of the 'Prime Minister's private army' at his disposal. The fast and furious plot sweeps the reader from Pakistan to Algeria to London to Paris to Ireland, with many deaths along the way. The stakes are already high for Dillon and company then a familiar, deadly face makes a dramatic reappearance. This time, Dillon will not only be going to war – the war will be coming to him, and he will learn that this Judas has al-Qaeda on his side…

Dreadful 17 May 2011
By H. Rees
Format:Audio CD
Absolute rubbish. Completely lacking in tension, poorly written, incredibly predictable. I persevered for as long as I could stand it but gave up half way through. I recommend that anyone with even moderate expectations should save a few pounds and spend the time organising their sock drawer instead. It would be more satisfying.

The Judas Gate 2 Oct 2010
Format:Hardcover
I have been a fan of the Sean Dillon thrillers for many years,& have always purchased them at the earliest time possible, but after reading The Judas gates first few chapters I refused to read any further. It is terrible. Not only the connection with characters like Daniel Holly, but to have Billy Salter referred to as "a sometime asscotiate" is beyond belief. Also, for Sean Dillon to not Want Billy with him on a mission, is beyond belief. The Salters are a major part of the prime ministers 'private army'.For a character like Billy Salter to go from being Sean's younger brother to an 'asscoiate', is not something I will ever tolerate. I will no longer read any more 'Sean Dillon' thrillers. A crying shame.

So why do I still read him? a misplaced loyalty to an author who once thoroughly entertained me with fantastic adventure and world war two novels such as 'Night of the Fox','Solo'... Read more

The latest Sean Dillon novel
An ok story from Jack Higgins although fairly predictable middle and end.
The latest in the Sean Dillon series which in my mind follows a similar storyline to those before it
