5.0 out of 5 stars Math is not just about the numbers 12 Dec 2011

Format:Paperback
Much of math gets bogged in in proofs, obtuse notation and details. We then miss the big picture. Professors Burger and Starbird presents the heart of what math is about using only High School math or less. This course is critical and will teach you how to discover and how to think ! Not only that, the lectures are very interesting as well as entertaining. The lectures on origami leading to a tiling fractal are astounding. But every lecture is actualy incredible.

Alas, I wish I learned this stuff when I was much younger.

Thank You so much Professors. Loved your lectures. I have seen part 2 only, and can not wait to see part 1.

I wish TV in the USA had material such as provided by the Great Courses. Instead TV in the USA is mostly a mind numbing vast wasteland with nothing even remotely as good as the Great Courses. I DO NOT WORK OR OBTAIN MONETARY COMPENSATION FROM GREAT COURSES.
