Opened my eyes to the joys of everything from the Ranters to the Ticklers - surely where the future lies for us all..! No doubt will come in useful in stocking up on a universe of random trivia to bamboozle friends and foes alike. And the cartoons are a bonus too..

I very much enjoyed the first Crap Towns book, and so as this was by the same author I thought I'd give it a whirl...

Well it's great! Some of the entries our hilarious and some, as you would imagine, are bordering on disturbing. My favourite has got to be the Cargo Cults and the great Christian god "Anus" - I couldn't have put it better myself!

...it took a bit of grace to laugh at this. But not too much as it is rather funny. As well as absolutely fascinating. Mormons! Wow! And as for the Ranters, Ticklers and Panawave Laboratory Group...

I wonder if Tom Cruise has read it yet.

A great little book
It's fun and, despite some of the other reviews here, it's surprisingly accurate in most cases. Yes, it's slightly mocking in places, but what's the problem with that? Read more

Fascinating & bonkers
Witty, honest and incredibly useful, especially if you have ever considered joining a cult. Or not. I was glad to see my favourite sect, The Ranters, were in there. Read more

Hasn't this been done before?
This was a good idea in 2000 when Peter Occhiogrosso did a book called, oh yes, The Joy Of Sects about, oh yes, the same thing. It's a bit shameless really. Read more
