5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing insight into a traditional TCM 29 Jun 2005
By Daisy
If you ignore the madness of renaming all the traditiolnal points in order to copyright a new system. This is brilliant pure genius.Iona is able to get under ther skin of traditional Eastern Medicine philosophies and give us a fresh emotional message. She is able to bring together Western bodymind psychology such as Reich and use it with a clear understanding of where aspects of the soul live in the body from traditional Eastern texts and clinical practise. A must for any self respecting practitioner or student of the eastern healing forms. I'm still reading my copy after 10 years!

5.0 out of 5 stars Feeling Joy 21 Aug 2011
This book is a must read for all those people who are interested in the mind, body and spirit links. Better still, it is written in a compassionate, easy to understand style that allows the reader to investigate the theories behind acupressure, shiatsu and traditional chinese medicine. I have found it extremely useful not just in treating clients but also myself.

Mieke explains how we can experience the DIVINE through the practise of Jin Shin and it is so true and so beautiful. I was addicted to the book as soon as I received it. I have just started studying Jin Shin and having treatments. Mieke makes the Jin Shin process more understandable by her comments and her examples of why a person might have this health issue because they behave or think in a certain way or are not connected to Source or God in their lives; thus helping the reader get a better insight into how deeply Jin Shin penetrates the various layers of the body in a healing way. The theory of Jin Shin is very complicated to understand but this book is helping me enormously. When energy is blocked in the body it will cause a problem and Jin Shin can help unblock that energy which is amazing. One can actually feel the energy moving! The diagrams are clear and easy to follow. When I treat myself I can feel the tension in my body melting away. I had not realized how tense I had become and fearful of life. This book is helping me to free myself from my mind's self imposed limitations that I have been holding onto for years and live a more carefree life at sixty-seven. Thank you Mieke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Access the BodyMind dynamics of emotions 27 July 2001
By Jack Bresler - Published on
This book expains how emotions -in the Western sense - reflect energetic balance/imbalance -in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Element Theory and meridians. Innovative graphics illustrate the complex dynamics. Numerous clinical examples are provided, couched in the beautiful and mystical poetry of Chinese Medicine and Philosophy, against a background of clinical western psychology. An absolutely essential volume for anyone, not weaned on these metaphors, but interested in holistic treatment, at any level. Beatifully written, deserves to be read and re-read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BodyMind Connection 14 Mar 2006
By C. Eland - Published on
Human understanding of the connection between emotion and physical health remains elusive in Western Medicine. This provocative Eastern view gives us hope that reintegration of our selves after traumatic moments and the transformation of "negative" feelings is literally at our finger tips.

This book is one of the deepest explorations into the energy of healing and remains a much worn friend in my healing library.

A must have book for healing touch practitioners from all traditions. A must read for all of us who hope to heal ourselves.

This is a great book, and very informative. I do think I should have started with one of her earlier books though.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Joy of Feeling 25 Oct 2010

A very special book! In its relation to Chinese medicine together with the rich experience and expertise of the author. She brings life into every term or concept. She must be a great help for her clients. Its too specialistic for me to give more judgements. But its obviously an outstanding text about healing and technique on quite a wide and deep level .
