This CD is most definately a collection. There are Opera arias, and songs like Moon River, Mona Lisa and other lighter fare. If you are new to Jose Carreras this gives you a good idea of what he can sing and how he can sing it. For those who are already convinced that Carreras is one of the greatest tenors of our time and have collected many of his CDs there may not be much here that is new for you but for the beginner there is plenty of variety. Jose Carreras puts his heart and soul into his singing more than any other singer that I know. When he sings opera he becomes the character but even for one aria or one song he becomes the singer and the song. There is very little that I have heard him sing that I don't like but it is sometimes the song I don't like, not the singer. He's not known for easily singing the so called High C so these can often sound strained but he can reach it and hold it. I always wished that he would ignor the other tenors and sing only up to A where is comfortable but he's damned for singing High Cs and he would be damned if he didn't. Hope this is helpful especially to new comers. Here are some suggestions for other CDs and DVDs of Jose Carreras.

Bought tis CD for my mum for Xmas, so unsure whether it is ok, I have no doubt it will be as everything I buy through Amazon, always arrives on time and in perfect condition.
