I baught this book in Waterstones for £20 which is quite pricey. But the quality of the book, the pages are worth every penny.
The pages are thick, sheen and shiny making the images of the Joker pop!
This book is great for:

- Finding LOADS, if not ALL info, on the Joker from when he was created up to 2011! very recent indeed.
- Referance drawings of the Joker
- The book gives you titles to more graphic novels you may of not heard of that include the Joker. I found atleast 4 that I recently baught because of this book!

The slightly bad things about this book:

- It's quite big and heavy, which is not bad bad, but may take up some room!
- Strong opinions on some characters that you may not agree with.
- Not enough info and images on the Animated Series which I thought would be quite important. There was two spreads of episode screenshots but I wanted a bit more than that. Also maybe more depiction of the Joker in the movies he has been in.
- Harley Quinn was brushed over quite quickley too which I thought was a bit unfair. I feel that it didn't expand on their relationship.

Apart from that I can't complain. If you are a batman fan you must atleast try this!
and if you are a Joker fan, why the hell have you not got this yet?! Get it before you shame yourself!

A gorgeous looking outsize hardback that charts the history of the Joker, surely one of the greatest creations in comics history.

The text here is somewhat on the sparse and perfunctory side, but nevertheless this book scores highly as a well designed collection of artwork and photos.

So treat it as an art book and you wont be disappointed; it's a feast for the eyes.

This book is a complete history of the greatest comic book villain of all time: the joker. it comes beautifully bound in a hardback cover with the jokers menacing grin on the front. it explores his entire history and origin from his debut in 1940 to the performance by the tragic heath ledger in the dark knight, and his appearance in the video game arkham asylum. for years the joker has astounded, entertained and horrified comic book and film fans, yet he was only supposed to be a one shot character in 1940 and actually dies at the end of his first comic, but luckily one of the DC writers realised what a great character he was and saved him at the last minute. the book explores all of his best stories and his numerous run ins with batman and contains some wonderful comic artwork both old and new. even if you don't feel like reading the text there are so many pictures, sketches and artwork to browse through you may not notice the hours flying by. it also contains an introduction by mark hamill who, apart from playing luke skywalker in star wars, has also voiced the joker in more cartoons and video games than any other actor. the authors have done a great job with this book and i have to say it sits proudly on my bookshelf and has become one of my favourites.

This Book was a fantastic exploration into the history and mind of the Joker. It was colourful and very clever in how it portrayed the characters history. It created a vivid image of how the Joker went from a one stop character to the Ultimate Rival in the Batman Universe, and how his influence has spread into other DC works. It is interesting in more ways than that, it also delves into the very make up of what makes these characters so explosive together and so completely different in almost every aspect of what makes them who they are. This is a must for any true Batman fan, as it explores how the Batman and the Joker developed into what would probably be now considered as one of the most unique and compelling of the villian/superhero relationship.

I am a life long fan of the Batman universe.

But I sway more towards the villains and mainly The Joker.

This is a sort of The Jokers life history in a single book.

Well written with a whole fountain of Joker knowledge.

An essential book to read and own for all fans of The Joker (little or large)

10/10

One of the best books about the joker. Many pictures but has lots of information about the joker and the history and how he has evolved over the years. Definitely recommend to any joker fan.

(I'm writing down my friend's words since it was a gift to him)

-Cool Art Work
-Lots of cut outs from different comics
-Covers alot of different areas (pretty much everything i.e. Nolan movies and video games too)
- I really like the glossy look of the lettering on the cover
-The book is big, but a nice size (probably better that it's a paperback)
-It's got like everything :o

Buyer's Notes: It shipped fast (came a day earlier than estimated! :D) He loved it! (Big Joker fan and overall DC/Batman fan)
