If I was reviewing just the paper edition of this book I think it would deserve more stars. I have loved most things Mr Aczel has written especially his book on The Mystery of the Aleph: Mathematics, the Kabbalah, and the Human Mind. Teilhard de Chardin fascinates me. However, this is the audio version and as a long time member of Audible, I can say that is one of the worst I've exposed to. The reader delivers the text in a flat monotone with no feel for what he is saying. It is only just superior to a computer synthesized voice! Actually it might be worse as the total lack of inflection slowly sends to to sleep. I can usually gain something from audiobooks even when they are far to hard for me to cope with on paper. This I have been unable to finish. Listening as I do in the car, I have had a head-drop, startle moment and genuinely fear that listening any more might kill me! The context is great as far as I have got but it's ruined by the reading.
