Having read The Stone in The Sword, I was pleased to get started on this, the second in the Kingslayer series.

Charlie, heading now for his 17th birthday, is introduced to the Isle of Skye, where he meets a new teacher. He is also aware that a new force is rising in the world of the sidhe. Unlike the malevolent Dark Ones of the first book, this is a more enigmatic threat, if it is a threat at all. What is certain is that Charlie is in danger, for Beara, the Cailleach, used to own the Stone, and she wants it back.

I loved the description of the Isle of Skye, as I am well aware of exactly the same feeling of connection with the place that Charlie feels. The only thing that was missing from the book was the pang of loss that you feel when you leave.

Do not be fooled by the size of this book; a lot of story is packed within this slim volume!

N A Roy is back with a bang with the second book in The Kingslayer Series; and it's even better than the first one!

A great read for all ages, written in an engaging style like the first.

N A Roy has a real talent for story telling!

I really enjoyed reading `The Island of the Mist' and can't wait for the next instalment of the Kingslayer series. The storyline is engaging with plenty of unanticipated twists along the way. It is a book suitable for both adults and children and really brings to life the myth and folk law of the Scottish highlands and islands.

I was so excited to learn that N.A.Roy had published another story in the Kingslayer series, as a follow up to the Stone In The Sword, so I bought it straight away and starting reading it as soon as it came through my door. I must say I was not disappointed. It was just as good as the first one, but once again it's left me wanting more, right now!! I couldn't put it down so read it in one day!
It's a story that would be suitable for adults as well as older children.
I can't wait for N. A. Roys' next book in this very exciting series.
