An interesting mix of narratives from those involved in the Congo mission. What clearly comes across is the naievette and innocence of many of the soldiers involved - including officers. Perhaps what I found more illuminating was that time does not appear to have altered the mind set of many.
Interesting also for the differences in recollection of those involved in some of the actions described- particularly the Niemba ambush.
On the whole OK - a useful introduction to the Irish Army's first overseas operational deployment, and the deployment in which the Irish defence forces matured.
