5.0 out of 5 stars The Best International Newspaper! 26 Feb. 2011
This is THE BEST international newspaper available, and it is excellent on Kindle. While you are reading, you can just click at any time to jump back to the list of articles. And the writing is superb. It is the international version of The New York Times, and I have not yet found a paper that covers world news better or more thoroughly than this paper does. Highly recommended on its own, and highly recommended on Kindle! And it is much less overwhelming than The New York Times, on a daily basis.

This is not a review of the IHT as a newspaper. Obviously I think it's a great daily paper with insightful, well researched articles covering many international topics. I take it that you like it already in its print version otherwise you wouldn't be looking to download it to your Kindle.
The Kindle version is presented in a clear and easy to navigate layout. It does contain some, but not all of the images. Luckily there are none of the advertisements.
What does annoy me somewhat, though, is that not all of the articles of the print version are included in the Kindle version. For obvious reasons sections like the crosswords don't come in Kindle format. However, I am failing to understand why not all of the 'regular' articles are included. Not at least since the electronic version is not exactly cheap. The price in itself would't put me off buying it provided I got most the content of the print version.
Nevertheless, I regularly download the Kindle IHT edition. In my view, the IHT and the NYT are by far the best daily newspaper available for the Kindle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Woeful! 17 Oct. 2013
Contained about 20 articles in total. 5 in the Sports section. Unlike the Telegraph subscription you cant access this on the Kindle Android App. Started looking at this after I tried the equally pathetic International NYT Android App. If NYT wants to cater to the European market they REALLY need to up their game. Guys, there's really no point in running ad campaigns if the product and experience don't deliver. The writing and content in the paper NYT is fantastic and I hoped I could get the same experience when I'm in the UK but sadly not. Back to The Telegraph!

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Live The Trib! 27 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase
The International Herald Trib is the best, most accurate and best-written newspaper in the world - by far! It is a must read every day. Happily my club in London subscribes to it, and I take it to Lunch with me every day, and when the club bore approaches, I happily hide behind it, and read avidly!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best in class for daily international reporting 16 May 2015
Verified Purchase
This is the best English language international paper going. I need it for a daily briefing, which it does better than rivals on most days. I give it five stars for the sheer quality of writing on its best days. But its American quirkiness can be maddening -- it can be extremely funny when it gets the wrong end of the stick on a European story. It has a particular vigour in its roundup of business and sport and the opeds really stimulate in a way the London papers don't. All in all my favourite daily paper, and has been for a long time. As a professional hack myself, I should stress that the NYT maintains reporting standards long jettisoned by most others -- it makes the eyewitness pieces from the ground almost in a class of their own.

4.0 out of 5 stars good on the move 9 Feb. 2012
I subscribed 3 weeks ago, and in that period have received all issues except one. Issues arrive automatically, at least if you have a wifi connection, maybe also phone link if you have the 3G Kindle -- I do, but have had a wifi connection so far. It's in many ways much easier to read than the print or internet editions, especially on the move. Once the issue arrives you can read it anywhere, in a car/bus, on the beach. Browsing is easy, you scroll the sections on the left side and the story headlines appear on the right, so you select the story you like, and can easily return to the main page by pushing the centre of the scroll button. Obviously the visual presentation is not as striking as the internet edition, only the occasionally photo, but if you mainly want to read the text of the articles, as I do, it's excellent. You can easily clip and save a story, or save the entire edition, otherwise Amazon seems to keep one week's issues for you. The IHT is my preferred source for world news especially when I am travelling out of the UK, I used to buy a print edition 2-3 times a week whenever I could, but that can be hard outside big cities. Now for the same or lower cost I get it automatically and on time. At last newspapers have been shown (by Amazon) how to safeguard their future. If Amazon could offer package deals, I would subscribe to several.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless
In the free trial period, not one issue downloaded more than "61% pending" so nothing could be read. A real disappointment from my regular newspaper of more than 30 years.
