I bought this book and clay pack with the idea that the kids could use it to make Christmas gifts this year. What a result! There was no moaning or dragging their feet about making gifts this year -they couldn't get enough of making things. In fact I got a couple more packs of clay to put in their stockings and they're still at it. My kids are 8 and 11 years old which is probably about the right age. You need to think less is more with the clay and make small delicate creations - this would be hard for younger children. My 2 made fridge magnets and little ornamnents for all the extended family and are still at it making new action figures to use alongside lego and new dolls house accessories. This item was a bargain for the amount of fun they've had. It worked out cost effective to buy this set as the clay was a good price but also came with the book - the book itself is really helpful and gives you useful tips and ideas of how to make loads of different items. It's certainly the best way to get started in using sculpy/fimo clay. I can't recommend this highly enough!

Great modelling starter set containing 8 small packs of Sculpey and a book of good ideas to start you off.
There are things for both boys and girls to try and make e.g. photo frame with outer space theme, flower and fruit necklaces, miniature food for dolls house or jewellery, aliens, dinosaurs, badges, beads, bookmarks and loads more.
Most small items just take a few minutes to bake in the oven.

Format:Spiral-bound
This wonderful book is full of ideas and full instructions on how to create the effects in permanent/modelling clay (FIMO, Sculpey, etc..) and then what to do with it. Picked it up while browsing a toy store for ideas to use at youth club. Can't wait to try some of the ideas out, that's if I can get to it before the youth do! 8 blocks of Sculpey clay included to get you started, but even after these are finished I suspect we'll be using this book again and again. (Adult supervision is recommended for when baking the clay to set it hard. Oven at 135oC or 275oF required)
