A Zen-like experience 26 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will read it again and again. It's not so much a how to as a how to approach furniture making. Krenov has a way of almost preaching his views on cabinetmaking, these appeals to me and a lot of other amateur cabinetmakers`.
Get,s you in the zone.

More tips and advice from the Krenov school of thinking. Good read, although I had hoped for a little more depth in this book. He got into the nuts and bolts of building stuff very nicely, I felt that there was too much focus on the chess table build. Some people will no doubt feel there was too little information as he never discussed dimensions really. I enjoyed the book but this is the third Krenov book I have read and reread and I think that is plenty.

Too much chatter 14 April 2009
Format:Paperback
Far too much opinion and chatter in this book. and not enough clear practical guidance. The photographs are poor and many diagrams just scribble. The structure of the book is very odd. After the first couple of chapters of philosophy he suddenly jumps into fitting knife hinges. There might be some useful hints in here somewhere if you ignore the twitter.
