Product Description

Product Description

You can't do much without it. Your Iliotibial band serves as an integral part of your ability to move. If you run, walk, hike, climb stairs, or stand on two feet, you need a healthy IT band to perform these movements. But as the wear and tear of motion accumulates, the all-important IT band can suffer. And Iliotibial Band Syndrome could be just around the corner. If you should develop Iliotibial Band Syndrome, mobility can become painful at best, catastrophic at worst. Without intervention, the pain can grow steadily on the outside of the knee, and trying to push through the pain may only make it worse. If the condition is never addressed, the situation could progress. The agony could build to the point where pain-free performance during endurance sports, working on your feet, or even vigorous walking will be but a memory. That's the bad news. The good news: you can prevent Iliotibial Band Syndrome before it strikes, and you can make it disappear if you already have it. With a little knowledge and an easy but effective approach to address the injury, you can deflect the duress caused by Iliotibial Band Syndrome. And then continue on with the activities and sports that are important to you. By using a strategic collection of stretching, strengthening, and nurturing actions, you can soothe the pain of Iliotibial Band Syndrome, and bolster your defenses against it. This book shows you how.

I had frequent pain and throbbing on the side of one knee when I'd run, more times than not...turned out to be i.t. band syndrome, and it hung around for over two years. Bothered me when trying to bike sometimes too. I bought a brace, and took pain meds, neither of which helped much. The ideas in this concise manual did however.

Anyone who runs a lot or works out with regularity should get this book. If you've never had i.t. band syndrome, this is a good exercise approach to use. Very all-inclusive guide for protecting yourself, and making the i.t. syndrome heal up if you've had it strike.

Heal IT Band pain on your own 1 Jan 2012
By Lou Brunswick - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The directives in this book have helped me when I run for fitness and in races. My leg no longer fails after running just a few miles, nor do I suffer knee pain afterward like I used to. Clearly written and simple to follow - - no need to be a medical professional to understand the ideas in the manual. Like the author says, you have to commit for awhile, then the IT band problems should be reduced or gone completely after a short time. Get this helpful book if you have iliotibial band issues and you want the condition to go away.

Good- covers all the basics of ITBS 27 Nov 2011
By Zachary B. Taylor - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was a good book for understanding ITBS. The are some good exercises in it, but it's nothing groundbreaking or new that's not easily seen or found for free online.
