A great little book, with some good illustrations. A lovely introduction to fantasy fiction for young readers 8+ I would say. George R. R. Martin has written some excellent adult fantasy novels too.

I read this in Dreamsongs, A RRetrospective. A wonderful short story. A cold girl - body & soul, an ice dragon, a war, a desperate situation. The shape of things to come in a Song of Ice & Fire.
