Book Description

A complete diet programme based on the astonishing discovery that starch is a major contributor to many forms of arthritic pain and irritable bowel syndrome

Product Description

Twenty per cent of the UK population - 12 million people - suffer IBS-related symptoms, but they may be unaware that the simple elimination of starch from their diet can bring dramatic relief from pain and discomfort.

In this revised edition, Carol Sinclair, a sufferer who has successfully overcome IBS and arthritic pain, brings you a revolutionary programme for a pain-free future. This practical guide will help millions to reduce their arthritic symptoms, whose pain to date has been relieved only by regular medication, with sometimes dangerous side effects.

The diet shows that a gradual reduction of starch in one's diet can dramatically reduce pain in days, to a point where drug usage is reduced and, in some cases, eliminated completely. Details of the discovery - along with case histories and a practical guide - make Carol Sinclair's book a first in the world.

The IBS Low-Starch Diet also contains over 200 delicious starch- and gluten-free recipes, along with a comprehensive guide to eating out.

It can almost be classed as a miracle working diet.

Within days after suffering years of pain there is a dramtic reduction in pain after starting the low starch diet.

The author Carol who was a chronic pain sufferer discovered the link between pain and starch and has been pain free for over a decade.

since passing on the book to other people the letters I have received saying how the book has changed their lives is outstanding.

There are no side -effects to the diet - there are no drugs involved

and there is nothing to lose in trying the diet and a potentially a pain -free life to gain

This book changed my life.

I suffered with IBS since my teenage years, and, like Carol, have had rounds and rounds with doctors, tests and drugs. One diagnosis took the place of another, one medicine the place of another, and still no relief.

By the end of it I was desperate enough to try anything. I went on the high-carbohydrate diet traditionally recommended for IBS sufferers. The only result was that I gained 20 pounds and now was miserable as well as ill.

Carol's book changed all that. I suddenly understood why my symptoms retreated when I was on a low-carb diet. Suddenly my persistent eczema tied in with my IBS. And, most importantly, the diet is working.

I feel better every day. The food is scrumptious, easy to make and inexpensive. But, most importantly, I feel like a new, healthy person! Thank you, Carol, and God bless you.

IBS Diet 12 April 2009

Good advice that really helps but its hard to stick to the diet. I really miss not having starch for breakfast and I am sick of eating bacon and eggs. I also have a dairy intolerence which means I am very limited in what I can eat. When I cut out starch my symtoms really improve.
