My husband pre-ordered this for me as I have previously followed Paul McKennas 'I can make you thin' system.

I have to say that I'm normally quite cynical when it comes to these kind of products but after years of dieting and reverting back to my pre-diet weight, I figured why not just give it a try?

I read through the book in a day. Much of the book content is similar to the 'I can make you thin' system as the golden rules still apply. Much of the plan is common sense: Eat consciously, eat when you are hungry, eat until you feel satisfied and then stop! This sounds like such a simple concept, but if it was that simple in real life, we'd all be slim!
This is where the pre-op and gastric band surgery trances come in to play. So far, the trances have been more effective than I ever expected. I genuinely feel as though I can no longer over eat and I'm already having to revise my portion sizes!
I appreciate that it is still early days, so I'll update and re-review this in a few weeks time.

I know I said that I would re-review in a few weeks (and I will properly) but I just wanted to share my first week's results! Not only have I lost just over 7lbs in my first week, but as much as I can almost not believe I'm typing this... It has genuinely seemed utterly effortless!

(3/2/13) Apologies for not re-reviewing at the 4wk mark as I initially intended as I have been busy! I just wanted to share that this system continues to work brilliantly for me.

My weightloss slowed/plateaued a little at the 2/3week point but those weeks, I began to lose inches!
At week 4, I am down by a fabulous 12lbs and a whole dress size and I'm still shrinking!

I feel about hypnosis the same as I feel about ghosts and god! Nothing one way or the other to convince me but I keep an open mind. PMcK's I Can Make You Thin was very good, husband and I both lost weight but gradually stopped listening to the tape. I have continued to eat slowly and put my knife and fork down, but it's not my meals that are the problem. I cook fresh food properly each night - it's the compulsive binging till I feel sick that's causing the lbs to plough on. My cousin had a hypno gastric band done in Belgium and has done fantastically so I thought I'd give this a go. I always feel very restricted and deprived on WW and SW.

I read the book twice, watched the dvd, listened to the CD, went shopping and bought things like full fat yogurt instead of diet (Golden rule - eat what you want) and last night did the trance. Felt extremely relaxed, couldn't quite make out what was being said some of the time but I don't think I was supposed to hear. Wasn't overly impressed. Went to bed with a slightly acid feeling in my stomach which hadn't been there before, read the book again (doesn't take long) and as usual looked forward to my breakfast.

Woke up looking forward to breakfast but wasn't starving like usual. Oddly, though I normally cannot do anything till I've eaten, I wasn't fussed and first did some chores. Then sat down to a boiled egg and the yogurt I had so been looking forward to but I couldn't finish the yogurt! No-one could be more surprised than me! I have high hopes of this, particularly as I found myself thinking "I'm so pleased I've had a gastric band fitted". Nor did I give a thought to my mid-morning snack, just don't want it, and have been very satisfied with a much smaller lunch

This book is really great. I've had my 'hypnotic gastric band' fitted of two weeks now and I have already lost a stone. I lost 8lb my first week and this week I lost 6lb. For once, my future in regards to losing weight and becoming healthy, is finally looking bright and I look forward to the coming weeks. I am not saying it will work for everyone but I am one of the lucky ones.

I hate to admit it, but I bought this out of sheer scepticism! I read all of these wonderful reviews, how could they all be true? How could weight loss be so easy? Well the reviews are correct - to a certain extent. I read the book, it all made sense and so immediately I made an effort to change my eating habits, mainly trying to stick to only eating when hungry. I managed to listen to the CD about a week after having read the book due to a lack of time. I really paid attention to what was being said and again it all made sense, I wouldn't say that I felt a big difference straight away but I was definitely eating less.

After just over two weeks I weighed myself and had lost 4kg, that's nearly 9lbs. It required almost zero effort on my part, I couldn't believe it! This is where I sound like I've joined a cult, but it's true - this does work. One thing I will say is that it does take a degree of willpower and a willingness to at least try. You can choose not to listen to your body, of course you can - if I'm having dinner out and it's delicious I will consciously keep eating (and regret it later when I feel horribly bloated and full), but in the main I stick to it. And I tell you, it's amazing how infrequently I'm actually hungry. I think my main problem is eating when I'm bored, so now I try to genuinely assess my hunger and if I can justify having something to eat then I go for it.

For me, the main benefit of this 'program' is that I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want - as long as I really want it (i.e. feel hungry enough for it). There's no counting calories or detoxing, it's really so easy to do. I have recommended this to a number of people and while it may not work for everyone, this isn't a high price to give it a go.
