This interesting tale, partly based on real events, has Richard Gere as battle hardened reporter Simon Hunt chasing after a war ciminal. His character's motivation is fueled by a very personal tragedy, one of so many in the horrific Balkan wars of the 1990s'.
If Hunt's character had been played by anybody but Gere it may have delivered better. He's not a versatile actor and he was the weak link in this tragic depiction of travesty and subsequent justice.
Terence Hoard as 'Duck' was convincing enough, as were many of the supporting cast. The terrible acts of genocide committed (in this instance by Serbs) should not be forgotten and it is a credit to the producers and director that they have chosen a difficult, but important subject to make into a feature film.
Not a classic, but stimulating nevertheless.
