Product Description

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong comes two Otherworld short stories that take readers on an exhilarating honeymoon chase with werewolves Elena and Clay, and a mysterious mission through the afterlife with dark witch-turned-angel, Eve Levine.

Stalked

It was supposed to be a quiet honeymoon. But when the happy couple just happen to be werewolves, 'quiet' is not an option.

Clay and Elena are trying their best to enjoy a traditional romantic getaway. But secretly, they're both bored with drifting round St Louis, pretending to be a normal couple. So when Clay realises a non-pack werewolf is stalking Elena, he leaps at the chance to pursue his rival and teach him a very hard lesson. The trouble is, Clay's plan involves deceiving Elena, which is not a good idea . . .

Originally part of an anthology of supernatural romance stories, Stalked is the perfect introduction to Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series and an exhilarating, action-packed interlude for fans.

Off-Duty Angel

Dark witch and part-time angel Eve Levine is desperate for a little entertainment. With her lover Kristof away on business, things are so quiet in the afterlife Eve's even ready to volunteer for an extra week's worth of angel corps duty, just to pass the time. Luckily something even better comes up: a real celestial bounty-hunter mission. But when the trail leads her to the British Museum and a mysterious, secret dimension, a pleasant diversion turns into something much more intriguing - and dangerous . . . Packed with suspense and surprising twists, Off-Duty Angel reveals fascinating new insights into a beloved series character.

Includes an exclusive early look at Thirteen, the epic finale to the Otherworld series, coming 24 July, 2012.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helps me get a Kelley fix before 13 12 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
** spoiler alert ** Finished at 59%. Started reading the prologue to 13 and had to FORCE myself to turn the kindle off.

Stalked was originally published in My Big Fat Supernatural honeymoon, which I refused to buy because I only wanted it for this story and it was £10 - no way. Luckily, I was able to read it when I visited a friend in Canada.
Elena and Clay are on their honeymoon when Clay notices a mutt is stalking them, stalking Elena. He confronts him and discovers his reputation is no longer what it used to be (he and Elena discuss this in a later book, I think it might be Hidden) and this mutt isn't scared off by the confrontation. Determined to keep the mutt a secret from Elena he tries to trap him, only to realise that Elena knew about him all along. So they team up and do what they do best ~ scare him off (with a little killing).
I do love Clay as a narrator, he always comes across as so stand offish in other books that it's great to read from his perspective every once in a while. This story brings Clay's worries as a father and husband to the front, his injured arm being his main worry but also the fact that his big scare tactic was almost 30 years ago and the newer generations don't believe thee story so they're just not as scared. As I said, I had already read this but since I didn't actually own the book I hadn't had a chance to re-read it.

Off-Duty Angel is the new short story prequel to 13, it has one of my favourite narrators ~ Eve. Eve is on her 6 month shore leave from angel duty and is bored since Kristoff is in court. So Kristoff brings her a case to help him with, getting info on a ghost. Eve stumbles upon a hidden dimension and finds some little demonic critters with a big secret ~ some lost text that contain spells. So Eve gets Trsiel involved after discovering the whole quest was just made up to alleviate Eve's boredom, and they get trapped in a hell dimension. Turns out her fake quest turned into a real one, involving some big hell beasts.
I absolutely LOVE Eve as a narrator, she's so kick ass. This really was just a little filler story but it gave a nice little insight into Eve and Kristoff's afterlife and some of Eve's angel duty woes.

I didn't read the 13 preview, if it was just the prologue or even just one chapter I probably would have. But it's 6 chapters and then I would have had to wait 'til July to read the full book ~ even I can't inflict that much pain on myself. Although I couldn't stop myself from reading the first couple of paragraphs before forcing myself to put down the kindle and back away slowly.

27th July isn't really that far away, is it? I can wait ..... I hope!

MY REVIEW
I think the cover best represents Stalked with the image of the wolf in the trees. Stalked is actually the first novella in this e-special. As a Kelley Armstrong fan I love anything at all with Clay and Elena in it. Even though I have read this novella before within My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon.
Both Clay and Elena are on top form having their honeymoon both desperate to keep the other happy and not admit to being bored in St Louis. Everything is getting very boring for them until a stray mutt starts literally sniffing around, challenging Clay? Sniffing round Elena? You need to read the novella to find out. I will say it is classic Clay & Elena and I doubt you will be disappointed!

The second novella in this e-special is Off-Duty Angel which feature Eve Levine and Kristoff Nast. Eve is bored as she is "Off-Duty" and Kristoff is hard at work at court. After trying to do a bargain with the fates doesn't work as she wishes Eve sets off trying to help Karl with a mystery involving his present case. Is Eve on the right case? Is it a set up? Or has Eve stumbled upon something bigger than she can Eve suspect? Again this one is totally Eve, in like a bull in a china shop wanting to sort everything and everybody out. I love the character of Eve too and feel she wasn't seen enough in the Women Of the Otherworld Series as much as I would have liked so this novella was a bonus for me.

This e-special also contains an exclusive early look at the first seven chapters of Thiteen, the Otherworld series finale, which I decided not to read as I am not up to that book yet in my Kelley Armstrong library of books so didn't want to spoil my future reading.

So did I enjoy the two novellas? YES! Would I read more? YES Would I recommend? I always do recommend Kelley Armstrong!

I have always loved this series, my favourites were definately the ones with Paige and Lucas or Eve. This one didnt live up to my expectations, I liked the short story at the start, but I felt it didnt really end properly, I actually wondered if it hadnt downloaded correctly. A little dissapointed.
