Product Description

Byron Caige has been a prisoner for the last fifty years of his supernaturally long life. Just when he gives up hope of ever knowing the taste of freedom again, he is unwittingly rescued by the very same woman who only wants to see him dead. Katherine Dare – Kat – is smart, fast, strong and beautiful – but unfortunately she’s a Hunter, and she’s convinced that Byron murdered her father twenty years ago.

She’s also Byron’s dormant.

As supernatural war breaks out amongst the otherworldly of Earth and threatens the existence of entire races, Kat is faced with a terrible decision. Should she give up her cause and believe Caige when he professes his innocence? Or should she fight him and possibly avenge her father’s taken life – even while she forfeits her own?

The Hunt is the fourth book in Heather Killough-Walden's New York Times bestselling Big Bad Wolf series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly anticipated and didn't disappoint!!! 2 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
The fourth instalment of the Big Bad Wolf Series and (I hate to say) the final in the series. I bought this as soon as it appeared on here and totally devoured the book! This is Byron Caige (lucas' brother's) book and Katherine 'Kat' Dare's book. Byron has been kept prisoner for fifty years and Kat thinks Byron killed her father twenty years previous and is out for revenge, however their paths soon cross with some surprising results. The beauty of this book is it also brought updates from the past characters but some of which I already knew through following Heather on Twitter and Facebook!! Haha! I wonder whether there will be a follow-up but maybe in the form of a novella. My advice read it!!! You will be thoroughly transfixed once again! :)

Also follow Heather on Twitter @killoughwalden her characters take over her account occasionally with amusing results! Had to include this bit ;) haha!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kept me gripped from the start 5 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the first review I've ever done so bear with me. I have read all the books in this series and its as good if not better than the other 3. I waited very impatiently for this book to be released and I bought it for my kindle as soon as it was released. I wasnt disappointed at all. The characters are strong, Byron and Kat pasts make you really feel for them and make you understand them completely,
I found my heart breaking for them. You get sucked into the story and I found it impossible to put down, until i finished the book and realised it was almost 3am, oops!!!
The action is written so well that you can imagine what exactly is happening and where every body is and what they are doing even down to the expressions on their faces. You did it again Heather, absolutly excellent. Please Please Please dont let this be the last in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wolves and charismatic gifts make a great story! 2 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the fourth (and final?) book in the Big Bad Wolf series by Heather Killough-Walden. The main characters are werewolf Byron Caige, and Katherine Dare, a hunter determined to kill him. Many of the characters of the previous three books are involved in a desperate hunt to find them both and save them from vampires, akyri, witches and warlocks.

I don't intend to give the plot away. I enjoyed this book as much as the previous three. There is a wonderful surprise ending in which Katherine chooses to do something spectacularly selfless and loving. I found the book very readable, enjoyable and fulfilling. HKW fans will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the series (so far?).. 5 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I came accross this series by chance soon after buying my Kindle and I enjoyed every one of the books. The thing is I've always enjoyed the next one a little bit more than the previous one, which is why I think this one is the best one so far. In my opinion the epilogue leaves it open for something else, so I'm hoping to read more about all of them soon.
There's loads of action, romance, magic and fantasy. So if you haven't read any of them, try them. And keep reading, because it only gets better! :-)
And if you've read the previous ones, I really don't know what you're waiting for..!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Hunt 5 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Well what can I say; like previous reviewers I came across Heather after I was bought the Kindle for xmas......... wow what a breath of fresh air; this series was brilliant, such a refreshing new twist from the previous werewolf or vampire books and silly it may seem but almost believable.... So much so I live in hope that I'm a dormant who will eventually be found by her Alpha :). The strength of the women is admirable, you won't find a timid, insecure, vain or snotty one in this series their strength and courage is second to none. Heather is brilliant, she deserves to be up there with Stephanie Meyer, Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Caine, and Rachel Vincent.

One thing I would beg for is that this not to be the last in the BBW series, we need to know more....

One last thing Heather is on Twitter follow her at @killoughWalden and Facebook her characters seem to take over her account quite a lot which is great and gives us fans plenty of teasers to kill the time when waiting for her next brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab finale 21 Aug 2011
By Dobsew
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a great conclusion to a brilliant series. Byron, the long lost brother to Lucas is alive and has been kept hidden by a vampire, but has finally escaped only to be found by Kat a successful hunter who is convinced Byron killed her father twenty years ago. This story has everything from love, vengeance, redemption and forgiveness.

Although I am sad to see BBW series come to an end, previous characters are brought together for a happy ending that leaves me feeling content and no questions left unanswered.

I will start by saying that this was an incredible book, they just keep getting better and better.
Firstly, what I love about every single book, is the charcters. I am so invested in them all and have come to care for them all deeply. Every single person is present in the newest book. Nobody is left out. Therefore the book comes in many different POV's. Which is great. There isn't one second spare to become bored.
As always, there were the really funny parts, that in the middle of danger and chaos, made me chuckle...
I loved some of the things Bryon says because it really shows him for what he is at that stage in the book. He is not from this time. A lot has changed since he was taken prisoner 50 years ago.
There is an amazing cast of bad guys, and an even better group of the good people that I crave to learn more about.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves shifters, magic, laughter, vampires, love and loss, honest real life struggles of heartache and pain, a fantastic cast and even better plotlines.
So if you have heard anything, good or bad, about this series, and you like one or all of the above I would urge you to read this series for yourself. You will never be the same reader again!
