Fantastic insider's account of Charles, Diana and the Royals. It conveyed - more than any other account than I have read - the utter bleakness of the Wales' marriage. It is very well written and this is given added value by the "access all areas" approach which speaks volumes about the suffocating rigidity within Royal life. I think it is a vile misjustice that Wendy Berry was forced to flee the country for 5 years after this book's publication - only returning when Prince Charles agreed not to prosecute her on compassionate grounds due to family illness. As Wendy herself says, working for the Royals can turn anyone into a republican. I have and it did!

The tapes are read by Wendy Berry herself, which adds to the interest of the account. It's quite a vivid portrayal of life at Highgrove between approx 1985-1992. It ends with the separation of the Prince and Princess when Wendy was made redundant. Unfortunately, though quite mild in its revelations now, it forced Ms Berry to flee abroad to escape prosecution. It's good to hear a first hand account; I enjoyed it.

this is a facinating insit into the private lives of Diana and Charles two very different people who should never of been together but under all the pressure of being who they are and Diana knowing that her husband loves someone else they both managed to bring up thoes two amazing boys in a very stable way anyone who is interested inthe royal family should buy this book
