First of all this DVD should get a 5 star rating, but I have to make customers aware there is a problem with this DVD. I adored the House of Elliott when it was shown on the TV and was overjoyed when I received the first series. The costume were beautiful, the storyline excellent everything was wonderful, so I quickly ordered series two and three only to find to my dismay that episode 4 of series two was completely missing and episode 5 was repeated twice. I quickly returned the DVD to Amazon who kindly replaced, it only to find exactly the same problem. I guess that the whole batch is wrong. So buyer beware the bar code on my two defected DVD is 5036193098925 ; maybe a good idea to check this out before buying. Apart from that it's beautiful.

This series is an absolute "must have". Probably the best production ever from the BBC. The acting is first class as is the film editing, the colours can be a bit weird at times, but overall it is the best value for money you can get.

Really enjoyed HOE first time round but that was then and now is now.Anyway, I decided to take a chance and buy the whole series.
And its fabulous, all of it ! Wonderful everything, stories, characters, costumes, period locations and sets.Louise Lombard is absolutely gorgeous and Stella Gonet is brilliant.Its great to see original /non crime/non medical drama.Its gripping.Don't hesitate-buy it

Love it!
Fabulous series - this follows on beautifully from series 1 - it is a must! I have loved watching it and have leant it to a friend who has also thoroughly enjoyed it!

Poor Playback
How dissapointing, this wonderful series (2 & 3) is riddled with poor colour, and in some instances impossible to view. I would not recommend the Dutch manufacturer. Read more
