Book Description

Russell Evans writes, "our relationship with God was restored with honor, and honor is the system God has built for blessing our relationships with Him and others." Honor affects every part of your life—your family, your job, your finances, and your church life. In fact, it affects everything. God has a great deal more for us than the narrow slice of life so many of us experience—more abilities, blessings, and inheritance. He wants us to experience heaven on earth—to live life and to live it abundantly. He wants you to operate in your gifts and abilities, but honor is the key that releases these things in your life. Honor is the foundation of the kingdom of God, and it unlocks the possibilities of heaven.

027021LI really enjoyed The Honor Key. I never really thought the place honor has in our life and the consequences of walking that out in daily life. The author demonstrates what honor is and why we should live in a culture of honor with principles and examples that are easy to understand.

It was Biblical and a fairly quick read, although I slowed down to make sure I really received the message the author was trying to convey.

If you're ready for a deeper relationship with God and wonder what a gameplan should be, I recommend introducing honor into your life. And start with The Honor Key.

I received a copy of The Honor Key from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
5.0 out of 5 stars A VERY WORTHY BOOK ABOUT A KEY ASPECT OF OUR CHRISTIAN WALK 20 Sept. 2014
By Dr Dave Daniels - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a wonderful book. I think his point is well made.

AT times, I think it's overdone--in the sense that he prescribes his HONOR prescription a bit more than his example illustrates.

Nevertheless, it is a worthy point and well worth considering his exhortations related thereto.

He might have discussed a bit more at length the distinction between RESPECT vs HONOR vs LOVE vs DEVOTION, imho. But that's likely just me being me. . . . Though I think the RESPECT vs HONOR distinctions would have been edifying and worthwhile.

Certainly honoring others requires HUMILITY. He might have discussed that factor a bit more, imho.

He hammers the priority of honor home habitually. LOL. But I think the myriad of repeated illustrations and related points are largely worth it and even necessary. Honor is certainly far too foreign to far too many "Christians."

I'd have also liked to see him talk more about the obligations of leadership to honor the sheep. That, to me, is a significant lack in his good book.

Nevertheless, it's well worth the time and effort to digest and grow therefrom.
5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended read on the concept of honour. 19 Aug. 2014
By Hau Wei Tan - Published on Amazon.com

This book brings a clear Biblical perspective on the concept of honour and a very good reminder of how important it is for us to practice it as a lifestyle. It is true that this is not a topic that is commonly taught in our society but yet such an essential attitude to have.

The principles that are taught by the author are also backed up by his own life experience and demonstrated through his leadership of Planetshakers. The author is honest and vulnerable throughout the book, making his experiences easy to relate to and the principles being taught relevant. It shows that even leaders of influential movements have to start somewhere and are still on a journey of self-discovery and learning; a trait that we should embrace.

It is a highly recommended read that will bring you back to the basics and establish/re-establish the foundational Kingdom virtue of honour in your life. What better authority is there to learn about honour than from someone who've actually walked the talk?

Amazing book by Ps Russell! Always encouraging and challenging to hear from the many experiences and stories of his life. So good to see what he has lived put down into a book. Truly inspiring, thank God for this incredible man and the message he's bringing to this generation.
