I have to say right from the start that I liked this book. It isn't a huge volume (40 pages) but it is very readable, contains lots of pictures, and does give a real feel for life on the Home Front.
The Home Front is a very broad subject with many books on individual aspects running into hundreds of pages. This book gives a basic guide to Britain at war and whilst it doesn't have the space to cover extensive detail it does cover a wide area and contains some nice pictures and period advertisements.
On the 1940's Society website ...I'm often asked to suggest reading material for students who are studying the 'Home Front' at school. I would think that this would be an excellent choice. A general book, covering a wide area, at a very reasonable price.
