Salam.
It may be that I have bought the only bad copy in the batch. But the build quality is very bad. This is the only hardback book I have bought, new or second-hand, where the spine crinkles up when you open it for the first time. The printing of the cover is indifferent in quality. The back cover is blistered as received. Finally, Amazon or someone else in the sales chain has dropped it on the corner.
The book is compact, and the Arabic occupies only about 2/5ths of the width of the page - consequently the Arabic text is quite small. The main language is English, and the only reason why you would want Arabic as well is if you want to read it as a English speaker - it is too small for that.
Finally, and it is bizarre, the Surahs are introduced right in the middle of the previous Surahs.
The end result is that the book is going back as faulty. You would not honestly buy a copy of this book, if you were standing in a bookshop. This book is well below the quality that I would expect of a company like Amazon. I feel pity and compassion for Abdullah Yusuf Ali who has spent so much time on the translation, only for him to be let down so badly by his publisher.
Do yourself a favour. Avoid. There are many better Korans on the market.

It's a lovely translation, and the printing looks good, but the actual quality of the book itself is really shabby. It's not even a hard back, the cover seems more like cardboard than anything else. It turned up dented, unfortunately.

I think translation and explanation by Abdullah yusuf ALi is the best of all i have read/seen so far.
there is line by line translation and explanation of important/complex points in each line. wherever in the explanantion author has put forward a view he has done it explicitly so you may ignore or accept it if goes against your wisdom/sense. Also helpful are the appendices which provide detiled acocunt of several opics such as who wer ad and thamud, torah and injeel (psalams and bible etc). summing up, i would definitely recommed for someone who doesn't want just a translation but also wants to probe a little bit..
