A complete shift away from the break beat grooves of his best known material towards a more Neu influenced vibe reminiscent of Primal Scream's 'Evil Heat' crossed with the Jesus and Mary Chain's 'Darklands'. So if you get off on those this should also be your bag. Like the JAMC's Jim Reid, DH half whispers rather than sings but that's fine. Whether I play this as often as 'This film..' remains to be seen. There isnt as much to find on repeated listenings as there is on his first 2 albums but it's still pretty good at that.

Can't add too much to what has already been said, but I just wanted to say that I bought this album in October 2010, and it has not left my car's 6-CD changer once since then. Plenty of other music has come and gone in that car, but "Holy Pictures" has been ever-present. It's that good.

David Holmes at his best - if you are looking for continuity with any of his last albums forget it - none of them lead onto the other, its just another stop on an amazing musical journey - Another blinder...

Now one of my fav albums (used in music for London 2012). Thanks Dotun Adabayo and BBC R5L listeners for telling me name of band and CD when I hummed it live on air!!

There are some great tunes on this album. Worth a listen to it is thoughtful dance music from one of Britains top music producers.
