With its elegant speech and accurate biblical knowledge, this bible is easily the best of modern editions. Drawing on new-found manuscripts and archaelogical evidence (such as the Dead Sea Scrolls from the Qumran Caves), intact with its in-depth maps and diagrams I would recommend it to anybody who wishes to go through with private study, as it appears to me to be the easiest to read and to understand of all the bible translations. It uses inclusive speech when dealing with the sexes (e.g using "Humankind" instead of "Man" and "Brothers and Sisters" instead of GK "Brothers") and its footnotes provide you with excellent background information of likes of where the manuscripts used for the partiular passage where taken from (Greek, Latin, Masoretic Hebrew-Abbreviations used-GK, LT, MT) and other renderings of the text are presented with the words, "other ancient authorities...etc."
All in all, I would recommend this bible to every type of reader of every age. It is a truly brilliant translation and defintely portrays the fruits of the best scholarship around.
