Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

This electric popper uses hot air instead of oil to produce a healthy, grease-free snack. Measured with the included cup so there's no guesswork, the kernels are poured into the center of the popper, the transparent viewing lid attached, and the cup positioned on top to keep popping kernels contained. Only then is the popper plugged in, because the 1200-watt motor gets to work quickly, churning out up to four litres of popcorn in just two and a half minutes.

While the chute on the transparent lid directs the popcorn into a bowl (not included), the force is vigorous and a high-sided bowl is recommended. If desired, the measuring cup can hold up to 85g of butter that melts as popping takes place. With the lid on, the popper stands just over 30cm tall and 18cm wide. Rival covers the popper with a two-year warranty.--Ann Bieri, Amazon.com

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware Kernels, 4 May 2005
By Plugg! (Basingstoke, Hampshire) - See all my reviews
This machine produces splendid popcorn in a quick and clean manner, with an easy to use measuring and butter melting device. Unfortunately the hot air fan is a little strong, resulting in a large quantity of unpopped corn kernels in the bowl of popped corn. Be careful when you try to take them out - they will burn your fingers!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best thing I've ever bought!, 15 April 2005
I got this as a present and it's the best thing ever! Easy to use, quick to prepare - just need to buy the popcorn kernels in bulk, but a little goes a long way! I don't cook but it's so easy to do - a massive bowl of popcorn is so easy to prepare! I then get a teaspoon of butter and a teaspoon of sugar and microwave till the butter melts - drizzle all over the popcorn - so tasty & lasts for ages

5.0 out of 5 stars A simple, brilliant little machine for popcorn lovers!, 15 Feb 2006
I bought this Rival popcorn maker as a present for the family (husband and kids)the Christmas before last. Since then every movie watched has been accompanied by a large bowl of freshly made popcorn, courtesy of the Rival maker! I bought it originally as it was reccommended by a friend.
We have found it very, very simple to use...you just put in corn kernels and switch the plug on! Within a minute the popcorn starts popping and within another minute its done! Make sure you have a large brimmed bowl to catch it all though. You can put a small amount of butter in the top cup to melt and then pour over. It is easy to keep clean.
My daughter has since bought another one for her best friend and we bought another one this Christmas for our daughter to take away to Uni. Hope this is a helpful review. I really can't find fault and we think its a bargain at Amazon's price too. For a kitchen gadget, it has been well worth the money and does what it says on the box!
