As good as the source material is, and as amazing as Douglas Adams story is, one amazing fact has slipped through the net along with the Dolphins.
Joby Talbot has arrived in the big time, at last!
After years of creating great scores for both Neil Hannon(who features on this soundtrack)and The League of Gentlemen (whos upcoming film Talbot has also scored)
Talbot has put together the kind of mature and amazing score i and im sure you all knew he was capible of.
The opening show tune "So long and thanks for all the fish" is a fantastic opener of Cole Porter dimensions, Talbot has always been talented at arranging overblown scores when called upon, for proof see Divine Comedy's "here comes the flood"
There are of course musical references for all the fanboys, many of the guide sections seem to have kept the syth effects, incidently a very good track to look out for is "Journey of the Sorcerer" (trust me)
The whole soundtrack develops into a very accomplished affair, that only goes to make one more thirsty for the upcoming film, and indeed even thirstier for more Talbot scores.
