DVD Description

The Hills Have Eyes
Based on the original film by fright master Wes Craven, The Hills Have Eyes is the story of a family road trip that goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carter family soon realizes the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey.

The Hills Have Eyes 2
After a group of hapless National Guard troops fails a training exercise, their commanding officer (Flex Alexander, Snakes On A Plane) orders them to deliver supplies to some scientists in Yuma Flats, New Mexico. The mutants from the first film (the unfortunate victims who live on nuclear testing ground) have returned to terrorise a group of Department of Defence researchers. The unlucky soldiers happen upon the remains of their camp (and its denizens), and the horrors begin. The inbred family of cannibals stalks the soldiers and picks them off, one by one, in gruesome fashion. Alejandre Aja (High Tension) directed the 2006 remake, but this sequel replaces Aja with Martin Weisz, whose first feature, Rohtenberg, was banned in his native Germany. Written by genre master Wes Craven and his son Jonathan, The Hills Have Eyes 2 is a sequel to the remake of Craven’s original 1977 film. It’s no coincidence that Craven changed this sequel’s victims from a band of motorcyclists to a group of unlucky soldiers, giving the film political undertones. For a brief moment, this film addresses the idea that war may be the worst kind of horror, even when it’s judged against mutant cannibals.

Fantastic Films 14 July 2008
Format:DVD
The Hills Have Eyes was fantastic and had everything a horror movie needs, a tight story, good acting, creative death scenes and characters you actually cared about when they started dying.

The Hills Have Eyes 2 was not as good as the first but it was still great, some of the scenes were extremely graphic and unnessecery such as the birth scene at the beginning but there are few of them and the rest of the film makes up for them, my favourite scene being when a mutant cuts a blokes arm off and waves to him as he falls to his death.

The boxset is a great buy, ignore what other people say and listen to me, buy it now.

Run for the hills 30 April 2009
Format:Blu-ray
A good Blu-ray transfer looks good in hd, however on to the film itself, do not make the mistake as I did by whatching this alone and in the dark it will seriously mess you up for the rest of the night.

Who ever made this film is one sick puppy, however if your not of the feint of heart you will enjoy this horror flick.

A Blu-Ray review... 30 Mar 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you're buying this I hope you know what you're getting. These aren't really "date movies" but nor are they the most wildly transgressive things. Even though I prefer the original 1977 version, I have to admit the 2006 version is the superior film and the sequel here isn't as bad as others make out. Fun.

Onto the Blu-Ray:

Picture is brilliant and, if like me you were weary of buying this as you were worried it would be the censored theatrical cuts, worry not - these are definetely the extended/unrated cuts. I have compared thoroughly with the help of my old DVDs and Movie-Censorship .com. All the extras are 'ported over, too, so those old DVDs are completely superfluous!
