Product Description

The Hills Have Eyes
Based on the original film by fright master Wes Craven, The Hills Have Eyes is the story of a family road trip that goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carter family soon realizes the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey.

The Hills Have Eyes 2
After a group of hapless National Guard troops fails a training exercise, their commanding officer (Flex Alexander, Snakes On A Plane) orders them to deliver supplies to some scientists in Yuma Flats, New Mexico. The mutants from the first film (the unfortunate victims who live on nuclear testing ground) have returned to terrorise a group of Department of Defence researchers. The unlucky soldiers happen upon the remains of their camp (and its denizens), and the horrors begin. The inbred family of cannibals stalks the soldiers and picks them off, one by one, in gruesome fashion. Alejandre Aja (High Tension) directed the 2006 remake, but this sequel replaces Aja with Martin Weisz, whose first feature, Rohtenberg, was banned in his native Germany. Written by genre master Wes Craven and his son Jonathan, The Hills Have Eyes 2 is a sequel to the remake of Craven’s original 1977 film. It’s no coincidence that Craven changed this sequel’s victims from a band of motorcyclists to a group of unlucky soldiers, giving the film political undertones. For a brief moment, this film addresses the idea that war may be the worst kind of horror, even when it’s judged against mutant cannibals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Films 14 July 2008
The Hills Have Eyes was fantastic and had everything a horror movie needs, a tight story, good acting, creative death scenes and characters you actually cared about when they started dying.

The Hills Have Eyes 2 was not as good as the first but it was still great, some of the scenes were extremely graphic and unnessecery such as the birth scene at the beginning but there are few of them and the rest of the film makes up for them, my favourite scene being when a mutant cuts a blokes arm off and waves to him as he falls to his death.

The boxset is a great buy, ignore what other people say and listen to me, buy it now.

This set contains both films hills have eyes remake series. The first film is an intense bloody Alexander Aja helmed horror. While the second is a unremarkable sequel that will kill some time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value double feature. 28 Sep 2013
Great double feature including director Alexandre Aja's gloriously gritty and brilliant 2006 remake of Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes and its own 2007 sequel. Now the first film basically has the same plot as Wes Craven's original only with a few twists and turns, and considering the fact that it was done by French director Alexander Aja who before this did High Tension, so expect a lot of gore and bloody violence. I must say the remake of "The Hills Have Eyes" was probably one of the few remakes that turned out good, when I first watched this a few years ago I was completely surprised cause most remakes nowadays suck badly. This movie comes equipped with quality horror and graphic gore scenes. The storyline is good and I think all the actors did a terrific job in making you the viewer feel the horror and tension. The sequel while not as good as the first film was still entertaining just as long as you don't take it seriously, as I thought that the acting was rather lame. The Hills Have Eyes 2 revolves around a group of hapless National Guard delivering supplies to some scientists in Yuma Flats, New Mexico. They stumble across the remaining cannibalistic mutants who survived from the first film. It definitely has some good gore, but the acting was sub par and screenplay was rather weak. Dialogue was also way too stereotypical and cliche. The transfer for both films was very good, clear picture and very good details and the sound is bombastic... Recommended for lovers of modern horror movies as both films were fun. Both films are the uncut and unrated editions.
