A great and quirky book. A kind of popular science meets detective novel - a bit like 'Sophies world' but this is about the paranormal, much more intriguing. Something I've been curious about for ages, it was an informative read, whilst remaining fun to read. The story revolved round a poltergeist outbreak in the american south west. The colourful narrative really brought things to life in the real world aswell as the paranormal. One of those books that's a great surprise to stumble upon. Highly recommended.

I was interested in this book from an academic perspective. I wanted to know
about the science of researching the paranormal, and the book delivered.
What Sophie's World did for philosophy, The Hidden Whisper does for
parapsychology. It's a primer or class 101 for the subject, and should be
considered must-have reading for any psychology student who wants to know
about critical thinking and how you approach experiments in difficult
subject areas. The fact that the information was conveyed in an interesting
story and in a fun way with a light touch - was a bonus. Highly recommended.
