A worthy, but very slight, book
on 10 June 2010
This is an OK book in support of a very worthy cause. It features some decent photography and the stories of the men wounded in action as well as those who have done their bit to raise money for Help for Heroes can be stirring stuff.
However, it's all too brief. Each piece is very short, so you don't get enough out of it and it would have been much more interesting with more detailed text and less photographs.
In bringing attention to Help for Heroes and the great work it does, the book is a success. As an informative non-fiction work you will come back to time and again it struggles. Worth buying if you want to show your support for the charity, but you might be better off just making an outright donation instead.
