I like this album and it has many good moments especially the single "What have you done" which includes guest vocals from life of agony's Keith Caputo. Other highlights include "Our solemn hour", "the howling" and "frozen". Within temptation are successful as they mix melodic and almost operatic female vocals with a more metal instrumental set up and this album is a healthy mix of pop influenced goth rock. However, in my own opinion i was slightly disappointed with this record as it was simply not as good as the band's last record "The silent force" which is much more catchy and more rememberable. I am not saying that this album is poor but merely that it does not equal the bands other releases and it hence left me slightly disappointed. If you are a die hard within temptation fan i would suggest you buy this record but if you are new to the band i would suggest that you go back to the "Silent Force" as it is a better place to start. This is a record for fans of female fronted goth bands and would be a good record for anyone who likes other bands such as nightwish or just likes metal style guitars but with more melodic vocals.

Wow what can i say, after listening to Silent force i was very impressed with the sound and presence wt had created, and seeing them at download festival last year really made me realise this is one hell of a band.

Receiving heart of everything which i also got a personally signed leaftlet from the band, they only signed 4000 of these and were only avaiable in the UK and only through certain shops.

I put the cd in and away i went the album is awesome, personally i think alot heavier than Silent force, Frozen, All i need, the cross are my favourite tracks but to be honest i could listen to this album all the way through no worries.

The band have definately out done themselves and this album deserves all the praise its receiving i personally think it could be in contender for being one of the best albums of 2007.

The band have been compared the Evanscence with is not true, not the mention WT were around years before Evanscence came onto the scene, true the bands both have small similarities, with the heart of everything i also hear abit of nightwish, its all thrown in there but produced in WT own style which makes it unique!!

Please check WT out they are touring the UK next month from 10th -14th april and they have also been confirmed for DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2007!!! don't miss out, even if your not a fan WT are worthy enough to have a peep at.

I loved "Silent Force", and I would say that at first listening this was not something I was fond of. Yet the more I listened to it the more I enjoyed the music. The songs are have a certain etherial hold on a person once they nestel in the back of the mind; haunting the ears and tickling the imagination at the very edges. It is still worth every penny, especially if you're a fan, and I give it a 4 star rating.

Hardcore fans of Within Temptation may well have been left shaking in their boots at the idea of the band becoming heavier. After all it was the majestic, somewhat overblown "fairytale" sound of songs such as Mother Earth, Ice Queen and later Angels that sealed the band's success in the first place.

Loved and hated in equal measure, the band's symphonic metal style has always had an element of drama. From the 88-piece orchestra employed for The Silent Force to Sharon den Adel's princess-like stage attire, there is no denying that the Dutch masters have a taste all things big. Fear not, for this is a trait not lost on The Heart of Everything. While the sound is indeed heavier, there is no denying that this is a true Within Temptation record. Stunning opener The Howling sets the bar high, building up gently before unleashing hell. The song is one of many heavy tracks that prove just how much the band has matured. Sharon's versatile voice is finally put to full use, while fellow musicians Robert, Rudd, Jeroen, Martijn and Stephen appear to break free of all restrictions.

First single What Have You Done -featuring Life of Agony's Keith Caputo- is a far cry from Within Temptation's previous releases. A new level of intensity is created through both the music and the perfectly matched vocals of Keith and Sharon, both of whom keep one another firmly on their toes. Elsewhere listeners are treated to songs such as Frozen and Our Solemn Hour, tracks that cover familiar ground while still maintaining a fresh edge. It may be worth mentioning that theses songs in particular are an acquired taste, meaning they'll only be thoroughly appreciated by true fans of the band and those of a similar nature.

The Heart of Everything, the title track, will be the biggest surprise to fans.

Only two years after the breathtaking "Silent Force", Within Temptation are back with an album that will take you into the stratosphere. Every song is beautifully written, supported by Sharon's magical vocals that do actually carry emotions (anyone who's ever been hurt by love will be able to relate to "What have you done"). Great care has been put in the arrangments of each individual track which makes 6 or 7 of them a potential single ("Hand of Sorrow", "the cross", "the truth beneath the rose", "final destination", "frozen" all stand out). Within Temptation have managed to assert their identity and style in a most convincing way and will no doubt continue to extend their popularity with quality releases like this one. In short : just buy it, it's a gem.
