The main problem with THE I HATE BRENDA BOOK/SHANNEN DOHERTY EXPOSED 'book' is the authors inability to seperate the bitchy and spoilt TV character from the actress who played her. I'm certainly not painting Shannen as a innocent angel, but really, if she was so unprofessional and unlikeable how is she working 20 years later? Answer; She wouldn't be working, she would have been blacklisted years ago.

I have no idea why it took two people to "write this" [read: string a bunch of rag mag and tabloid articles together]. Carr and Darby should have spent more time around real people. Maybe then they wouldn't have been so obsessed with a TV show that they were unable to see where it ended and real life began.

It's just very lazy 'research', which was only released to cash in on a successful show.

Thankfully this tripe was published before Wikipeda and celeb blogs - they might have ended up painting Shannen as a serial killing hooker...

Entertaining read 8 Feb 2007
By A. Ester - Published on Amazon.com
I owned this book when I was 11, right at the height of 90210-mania. I loved the character of Brenda and HATED these authors, but in hindsight, this book is actually a pretty funny read, and Brenda, was, in fact, a character worth hating. (Watching the newly-released DVDs has been eye-opening). I feel a little bit bad for Shannen Doherty because she wasn't her character of course, but she has proven to be just as temperamental as the authors claimed, so...

This has got to be the WORST book EVER! 20 Nov 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Oh, this book is SO full of it! If they had done ANY research AT ALL they would have found out that Shannen Doherty is a wonderful person, and if she got SO many people to HATE her character THAT much, then that proves what a GREAT actress she is! Her character had to be a mean, snobby person, and she was great at ACTING that part out, but in real actual life she is wonderful, and kind. These people need to get a life!

Some people need to get a life 23 May 2003
By Jennifer Martin - Published on Amazon.com
I remember reading my own copy of this book at the height of 90210's popularity and I had a copy of this book. All I will say is that the authors of this book, Michael Carr and Darby, need a life or a better hobby (or better yet, a job) if they have to waste their time writing a piece of vicious, sniping, venomous drivel such as this book ------ especially if they have to obsess on someone that they apparently despise and can't tell the difference between a TV character and an actual person. This book was not humorous and to buy it is still a waste of money. I would not advise buying it or reading this and if it were possible I wouldn't even give it half a star.
