The Hat features over 30 poems written by the UK's Poet Laureate. The poems vary in length from short Haikus, a rewriting of nursery rhymes to the longer and more illustrious title poem - which is trip through the history of literature.
There is at least one or two poems that all children will enjoy. I enjoyed the whole book, which feature creative, amusing and thoughtful poems by the author. Amongst my favourites "I adore Year 3", "Ask Oscar" and "Ran out of Sugar" which are very entertaining.
It is an excellent resource that will play a part in my literacy lessons for the future.
