Product Description

George Dorgan, Financial Times,

' A good basic guide....'

Product Description

We all know someone who never seems to suffer from depression or ill health, or even a runny nose and it's not because they keep fit and eat the right things; but they seem to have an inner strength that allows them to cope with the pressures of modern life and maintain their equilibrium. Ayurveda means "the science of life" and it looks for the equilibrium in each individual. It is a holistic approach to healing. This handbook explains the complementary therapy in preserving personal well-being and vitality and provides an overall view of ayurvedic principles. Advice on nutrition, exercise and lifestyle are given, in addition to a step-by-step guide to the causes and treatments of specific health problems.

This is a great book, it introduces ayurveda in a simple easy to understand manner. Written by the leading expert on ayurveda in the UK, Dr Godagama explains how we can incorporate ayurvedic priciples into our daily lives..Dr Godagama also describes what happens in a typical clinic consultation...I found it very useful before seeing my practitioner. I have many books on ayurveda and since this book is written by someone who has studied the subject in depth, it ranks amongst the best.

One of the best introductions to ayurveda I have read, the book clearly explains the depth of this science without confusing the reader. I was particularly impressed at the case studies which highlight the vast number of conditions that can be treated with ayurveda...the author provides clear advise on diet and how we can all incorporate ayurvedic principles into our daily lives. The book takes you through the steps of a visit to an ayurvedic clinic...overall a must read for anyone interested in this subject...I highly recommend it

Ayurveda seems to have more relevance than ever to our western society and so much to offer given the lack of time gps have. I really felt that some of the treatments offered here could help, and had the confidence to try, with brilliant results.
