This set of Gruffalo-themed felt play pieces is well made and nicely presented.
The set itself comprises thirty-six pieces: a large and strong-feeling felt covered play board, illustrated with a picture of the 'deep dark wood' together with thirty-five moveable felt play pieces. The play pieces include a range of characters from the story (there are two big Gruffalos, two mice, etc.) as well as other flora and fauna such as squirrels, insects and toadstools - which might not appear in the narrative to the Gruffalo story, but certainly feature in Axel Scheffler's beautifully detailed illustrations.
The set is nicely presented in a thick plastic folder, complete with a small internal pocket for the safe storage of the felt play pieces. This folder feels reasonably robust and should last fairly well. At full price, I would have been happy with this set. At half price, it's a really good buy.

The young lady who received this item as a Christmas gift is delighted with it and plays with it constantly. It seems to be her favourite toy of the moment and is a great aid with her dexterity and co-ordination.

I do find these new felt boards are not as good as the old ones I used to play with when I was younger. The colours and sizes are great however they dont really stick down too good at all to create a good scene for long.
