I would give this book five stars for the info and three for the layout.
The herbal remedies discussed here are very useful, starting with the info on what herbs to use for cleaning your house and what kind of indoor plants to use to purify the air you're breathing. The herbal remedies on skin care and several health issues can be found in most herbal books. However, I thought that the chapter about cleansing was very interesting, as it leads to a cure (prevention, actually) for the common cold.
A note: Despite the title, and although it's written by a witch, spellcrafting is not discussed in this book. At least not in the usual way...

At last! A book with easy to follow recipes and a down to earth approach. I borrowed this book from the library and was so impressed I rushed to Amazon to buy it and it's now my main bible on herbal remedies. The author writes in plain english and there is an easy common/latin name index at the back of the book as well as lots of useful addresses. If you want to good guide to basic herbalism then this is it. Ask my husband; using this book I made his rotton cold so much easier to bear and he's now as hooked on herbal teas as I am!

This was the first herbal book I bought and it got me started on my voyage of discovery. Lovely, easy to read contents and a joy to use. Even after numerous other purchases I still keep thumbing through it when I need a quick remedy.
