Product Description

“As you read The Green Bible starting in Genesis, you will see that after God created birds, fish and animals he created humans to be his viceroys and to act "compassionately and gently" towards all forms of life…We can be wantonly irresponsible, or we can be caring and compassionate. God says: I put before you a choice. Choose life.”
– Archbishop Desmond Tutu

“The Green Bible sets out an urgent agenda for the Christian community”
– Eugene H Peterson, Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology, Regent College

“No better road-map exists for your journey into creation-care”

The version is good, and if you get it for the content it is a great buy. The reason why I'm giving it. 2* is because the "green highlighted" verses that are supposed to be connected with the planet are not connected at all. It seems like someone wanted a little bit of green in each page and just chose random verses ...

5.0 out of 5 stars great witnessing tool 5 May 2011
Slightly disappointed that the cover is not more durable but other than that minor gripe I am very pleased with it. I hope to benefit from more detailed use of it in the future as this is a recent purchase. Already I found the articles at the beginning extremely useful in setting out many of the environmental issues facing us today and the myriad of answers already contained within the Bible, if only we care to read it and act upon its wisdom and principles. The highlighted text is particularly useful and the cross-references enable you to see different aspects through out the Bible thus enhancing your knowledge. Highly recommended even to non-believers [maybe especially to non-believers!!]

5.0 out of 5 stars Small yet perfectly formed 30 May 2009
Lots of Bibles end up being too heavy to lug about - great for reading at home, yet a pain to take away with you, or even to church. We've recently moved to a new church that uses the NRSV of the Bible, and this was the best solution for us. The text is clear and easy to read, which I wouldn't have expected in a relatively compact edition. There are plenty of extra articles and reading helps that make this a fantastic addition to any bookshelf. The green issues are sensitively covered without being over the top and are grounded in fact, not emotive language. Quite simply put, a jolly good purchase.
