This is a must-have for all wine lovers. If you want to understand the time you are living in, you have to have an understanding of the past. And that is exactely what Michael Broadsbent gives you in "The Great Vintage Wine Book", vol. 2. Here you can read about almost all new, classic and ancient vintages of the great wines of the world. All wines are followed by a star rating and a tasting note. The stars gives you a clue to what level this particular wine is on, but the tasting notes should make you tremble. Michael Broadbent is in love with the wines and his tasting notes are love letters to each and every wine. It is a pleasure to read the tasting notes, they are well-written and at the same time gives you an idea what to buy and what to avoid. Furthermore the author has tasted the wines a great many times which makes his tasting notes even more reliable.Especially if you want to buy old wines - this is probably the only book in the world covering nearly two centuries of fine wine. A must have !

Tasting notes. That's what this is. One huge book filled from cover to cover with thousands of wine-tasting notes on wonderful old wines that most of us will never get to enjoy. If you really like reading about wine, though, you can spend hours browsing through this volume vicariously tasting with Broadbent. And if you're a collector, you'll find his observations indispensible

This tome of wine reviews by the venerable Michael Broadbent has always been a favorite, especially when I go through my cellar looking for a special bottle of older Bordeaux. So I was glad to find the book through Amazon and so inexpensive. I ordered a copy as a Christmas present for my brother-in-law. The ordered arrived in time and was in great shape; as good as the bookseller promised. I was very please with the condition of the book and the quick delivery time, and highly recommend the vendor.
