Product Description

A guide to understanding and thriving in today′s new economic environment

Now that the housing and credit bubbles have burst, toppling banks and sending shockwaves through the stock market and around the world, it may seem like the worst has passed. But the full impact of the crises we have recently faced will create far more problems, and unless you′re prepared, you′ll struggle to regain your financial footing.

In The Great Reflation, author Tony Boeckh helps you understand how these crises, and the policies passed to jumpstart the economy, will play out for investments and business, and provides you with the tools to excel in today′s rapidly evolving financial landscape. He reveals how similar episodes compare with the current crises and what this could mean for your financial future.

  • Arms you with practical insights that will allow you to evaluate different investment options
  • Explores the implications of the end of the private debt cycle, the possible rise of a new age of thrift, and the new government debt crisis
  • Reveals how you can profit from once–in–a–lifetime opportunities as well as proper portfolio allocation strategies

While things may never return to "normal," you can still make choices that will allow you to prosper. This book will show you how.

A Kid's Review
Format:Hardcover
There are not many books covering strategy and asset allocation as well as this one.
It is a very concise, very straight-to-the-point book and very up-to-date book.
It is not the type of book that screams "US is dead, China wins" or vice-versa (for that turn on CNBC).
The author has a very balanced view and stimulate the reader to do more research on how to allocate its portfolio in this "Great Reflation" days.

Highly recommended.

The title of the book is in reference to the injection of public cash into the private sector, be they through bailouts or transfer payments; the book itself deal with strategies to take advantage of this historic opportunity - and the clear advice here is that the name of the game is asset protection going forward.

But with this exception, don't expect to find clear answers in this book, because you wont find them. Instead, you'll find sound advice on all types of asset classes (stocks, bonds, gold, US Dollar, commodities...), their pros/cons, how you should position yourself, and the time lines within which you should exit; there is a substantial of focus on cycles in this book, whether you ultimately believe in these is up to you, but it's interesting nevertheless.

Generally, the strategy means stocks, bonds, and 5-10% gold - though he's not particularly bullish on its prospects, it's more of a systemic risk hedge. The only asset class he'd generally avoid is commodities.

Overall, definitely recommended for the cautious investor.

Still I think it is a great book for investors of every stripe. Well written and thoroughly researched.
