This book is a must have book, because all the recipes are clear, concise and practical. It is clear to see how much time, care and many hours of hard graft, have gone into the research and the writing of this book, you feel that Mr Vickery has written from the heart, a very down to earth chef who knows his ingredients and cooks with love. And the photography is wonderful, which greatly compliments the recipes in the book. Mr Vickery another book to be truly proud of. THANK YOU.

I chose this book because I'd been told there were lots of original ideas and I have a somewhat restricted diet. I'm happy to say that I wasn't dissapointed at all! There is some real quality here, and the photography is so vivid and luscious that it had my mouth watering. Vickery's recipes are intended for the outdoors but many can just as easily be modified and brought indoors over the festive period for a light alternative to all that overblown grub you're faced with at this time of year. The courgette, pea and parmesan pilaf was a tasty triumph at a "bring a dish" simple supper party I went to last weekend.

This is a really genuine outdoors cookbook and even includes things to cook whilst camping in the middle of nowhere! Even cakes and desserts. Lots of recipes for sauces and dressings as well. Some really tasty things and great hints about barbequing, cooking on 1 or 2 rings and cooking on a wood fire. Some stunning things for picnics and even ideas on things to put in a flask to take on a picnic. If you like eating outdoors, this is definitely the book for you. I bought it sight unseen and am really thrilled.
