This book, although not overlong, clearly explains exactly what 'macrobiotic' means. As with many others, I have long had a vague awareness of this term but haven't known exactly what it entailed, and what benefits it can bring.
The author explains not only the kinds of foods, but the whole 'lifestyle' which goes to make up the macrobiotic way of life (it can't really be called a diet as such). Most interesting, and it certainly seems worth the effort - and let's face it, it is a big change for most - to try this. Yes, it will be difficult to completely change one's way of eating, but Waxman explains how to adapt slowly by adding new foods gradually. I'm definitely going to try these changes.
