Krisiun - The Great Execution.

One of the best and most brutal deathmetal bands out there, for years now already, but I notice they're still a bit overlooked and being considered average deathmetal.
Despite that, The Great Execution easily continues the range of massively brutal deathmetal releases these Brazilians have executed so far. No surprises here. Whoever likes earlier Krisiun will also like The Great Execution.
Same goes for the recorded sound. All clear but vicious. A highly recommended buy.

I had never heard of Krisiun until recently, and what a treat to my ears their discography has been. Their current album is top quality in every single song. The vocals are brutal and discernible, the guitars crunchy and melodic intertwined, the drums absolutely blistering at times. I will not say you will find any new genre boundaries here, but it is the masterful assembly of rhythms, and other song elements, that makes this album shine. If you like classic Slayer guitars, Deicide vocals, classic Sepultura harmonies, and an overall polish by Krisiun, then you will greatly enjoy this album. I cannot recommend this enough for anyone who is already a fan of extremely heavy metal. If you are not, this may be the album that lures you in to the genre.
