Utter Rubbish! 3 Jan 2012
Format:VHS Tape
This supposedly true story tells how a group of AMERICANS captured the SS and Gestapo men responsible for the murder of the 50 Sagan Great Escapers. The RAF Special Investigation Branch never get a mention nor do the likes of Wing Commander Bowes,ex-Scotland Yard, who actually did lead the RAF's search for justice. No mention is made of the other dedicated men such as Lyons or Mackenna who beavered away at this seemingly hopeless task and finally brought it off despite the whole of europe being one big ant heap and the men they wanted being almost impossible to identify or find, yet still THEY did it,NOT the Americans!!!

And this so called true story had the Gestapo man Burchhardt being killed in a shootout with the Americans but he was captured,by the RAF but never hung as with the passage of time the willingness to hang declined very sharply. His sentence was commuted to life and he was almost certainly released after about 20 years. This film is complete crap and should be burnt!

Not particularly historically accurate but if you can set this aside then this is a resonable addition to the genre; neither particularly good or particularly poor. At best it will wet your appetite to investigate the backstory further.
